Weekly deep conditioning treatments are beneficial for all types of hair. You don’t have to spend on expensive treatments at a salon anymore, as the same can be done easily at home. This article lists some simple recipes for deep conditioning your hair at home.
All women desire to have long, lustrous, healthy hair. Although, due to the hectic schedules of today, many women are unable to spend a lot of time in hair care and maintenance. However, with just a little effort, you can get your lustrous locks back.
There are many products available in the market which promise to reverse hair damage. Hair can get damaged due to a number of factors such as pollution, extreme weather, and chemicals used for coloring and styling. When it comes to bringing your mane back to its glory, keeping hair clean and conditioned is of utmost importance. Deep conditioning should be done once a week to bring moisture back into your hair and to improve its texture. Given below are some of the best deep conditioning hair treatments which you can easily follow at home.
Hot Oils
A hot oil treatment is very beneficial for dry and damaged hair. For this natural treatment, you will need some good quality oils such as olive oil, jojoba oil, sandalwood essential oil, geranium oil, vitamin-E oil, and lavender oil. Take half a tablespoon each of these oils and put in a saucepan. Add half a tablespoon honey to this mixture and heat it. When it gets warm (do not make it too hot or it will ruin your hair), take a cotton ball and apply the oil on your scalp by parting your hair into sections. Once the scalp is done, massage the oil in your hair with your fingertips. To make this more relaxing, you can ask someone else to give you a hair massage. Continue massaging for about ten minutes and cover your hair with a shower cap after you’re done. Leave the oil on for an hour and then shampoo as usual.
Yogurt
Application of yogurt on hair, which is naturally acidic in nature, is another effective conditioning treatment. Take a cup of fresh yogurt and add a tablespoon of vegetable oil to it. Wash your hair and rinse. Apply this yogurt mixture on damp hair and scalp with your fingertips. Wear a shower cap and leave the mixture on for about an hour. Wash off with shampoo.
Avocado
Avocados are one of the best natural conditioners. Take an avocado and mash it. Add a tablespoon of coconut milk and half of a mashed banana to it. The mixture should be of the right consistency, similar to that of a shampoo. Apply this on your hair and scalp, wear a shower cap, and leave on for half an hour. After that, shampoo your hair as usual.
Quality Conditioner
Buy a good quality conditioner formulated for your hair type. Take a small amount of this conditioner in a bowl and add pulps of banana, mango, and avocado to it. These pulps contain natural oils and make the hair softer. Start by shampooing your hair. Rinse and apply the conditioner on your hair without getting it on your scalp. Follow this up by wrapping your head with a hot towel (soak a towel in hot water and wring it out). This will help the hair to better absorb the ingredients. Leave it on for half an hour, and then wash off with lukewarm water. Do not shampoo for the next twenty four hours.
These are some great conditioning treatments for all kinds of hair. These treatments lock in moisture, and make the hair softer and shinier. Follow these once a week for gorgeous hair.
