Many women worry that doing a French braid involves a lot of tough steps that can't be achieved at home. Ladies, that's not true at all. You don't necessarily have to visit a salon every time you wish to try this style. With only a few steps (instructions given below), you can easily rock this hairstyle in only a few minutes.
Classic French Braid
Before we begin, there are few things you need to do in order to achieve a perfect-looking braid.
- Wash your hair with a good quality shampoo that suits your skin texture. Apply conditioner as well and wash your hair properly.
- Wrap a towel around your head so that it soaks all the water from your hair.
- Let your hair air dry, or if you're short on time, use a blow dryer to speed the process.
- Using either a paddle brush or a wide-tooth comb to thoroughly brush your hair. This will remove all tangles so that you can braid your hair properly.
Once you have brushed your hair properly, we are ready to begin.
With the help of a brush or your fingers, gather the top layer of hair.
Make 3 separate strands from the top layer of hair we just gathered.
Braid the strands together and add in a section of hair strand from the side.
After you have made the first twist, take a new strand from the other side.
Include it to continue the braiding process.
In the same manner, keep taking strands of hair from either side (alternatively) to continue the process.
Once you gather all hair together, keep braiding your hair till you reach the end.
Initially, you may find this particular technique slightly tough on your own. However, as keep practicing, you will the hang of it and will be able to create the braid swiftly and easily. In the beginning, sit in front of a mirror with another one behind you. That way, you can see the progress of your braid as you complete it.
