"The hair is the richest ornament of women."
― Martin Luther
Martin Luther could not have said it better. Hair plays an important role in a woman's beauty. A person with dry, rough, and damaged hair, may not look as charming as the person with silky soft hair. Who wouldn't love to have long, beautiful tresses like Rapunzel, or maybe thick jet black hair like the princesses from the childhood fairytales? However, with an increase in the level of pollution, and also with a busy schedule, long, thick hair is now almost a thing of the past. People keep wondering how to get healthy hair. They are cribbing about common problems like dandruff, hair fall, dry hair, oily scalp, and the list goes on. They are chopping off their beautiful locks in order to get rid of these problems. Relax girls (and boys who are craving for healthy hair growth), because there are some simple homemade hair masks which will get rid of this problem. Accompanied by proper hair care, these will prove to be the best solution for all your hair issues.
Egg Packs for Hair
Raw eggs are rich in proteins and vitamins A, D, and E. They are good for treating hair loss. Vitamin A increases the production of sebum which is helpful in preventing dry hair and dandruff, whereas the protein strengthens the hair follicles. The yolk of the egg makes the hair shiny, and also gives it volume. Now that we know the importance of eggs for your hair, let us have a look at the various natural packs.
For Hair Fall
When you see those strands of hair being washed away while you shampoo your hair, it's anguish beyond imagination. It's normal to lose at least 100 strands of hair everyday, as the old hair falls out to make way for new growth. However, if you are losing more than that, then it's something to worry about.
  • Mix henna powder, egg whites (the number of eggs depends upon the length of your hair), and yogurt. Apply this mixture on your hair, and leave to dry. Wash it off properly with a medicated shampoo. You can do this at least once a month for reducing hair fall.
  • In a bowl, beat one or more eggs, and mix with water. Now, wet your hair and apply this mixture. Massage your scalp well, and let it remain for 10-15 minutes. Then, wash it off with lukewarm water. Your hair fall will be history.
For Dry Hair
A person with dry, rough hair faces problems like itchy scalp, dandruff, split ends, and dull hair with no bounce. Try out these simple home remedies for dry hair, and you will soon see the difference.
  • In a bowl of milk or yogurt, beat up an egg (the number of eggs depends on the length of your hair), and add the juice of a whole lemon. Next, add at least one teaspoon of either olive or coconut oil, and then massage this mixture properly into your hair. Leave it on for sometime, and for better results, you can even cover your hair with a towel dipped in warm water. Wash off this mixture, and towards the end, the final rinse should be with lime juice and warm water.
  • Another hair pack is a mixture of egg yolks (2), honey (2 tsp), and olive oil (4 tbsp). Mix well, and leave it on for sometime. Wash it off with lukewarm water.
For Frizzy Hair
Dry, frizzy hair often stands up, like Einstein's (no offense!). Although this became a symbol of recognition (besides his genius works) for him, some of us wouldn't be caught dead with hair like that.
  • Mix together yogurt, raw eggs, and honey in a bowl, and apply on your hair. Leave it on for sometime, and then wash it off properly. Say goodbye to the frizz!
  • Mix together egg yolk, honey, sandalwood oil (3-4 drops), rosemary oil (2-3 drops), and warm water. Apply this on your hair, let it dry for sometime, and then wash off.
For Oily Scalp
Oily scalp not only gives your hair a sticky look, but also attracts dust. Hence you have to wash it every other day.
  • Mix together egg whites (at least 2), Fuller's earth (5 tbsp), wet mint leaves (1-2), honey (2 tbsp), and lemon juice (3 tbsp). Apply this pack on your hair properly, and leave it on for at least half an hour. Wash it off with a medicated shampoo.
Using these hair masks, you can say goodbye to all your hair problems once and for all.
